about an hour or so drive from new delhi is the sleepy town of neemrana where on a hillside is situated the neemrana palace. built in 1464 and later abandoned the palace was restored in the 1980s and is one of the oldest heritage resort in india. the entire area lies on a majestic plateau, concealed in a horseshoe formation of the billion year old aravalli ranges. this guard room covered in beautiful bougainvillea at the entrance of the fort was a great subject.
